Current Goal

I would like the bug to travel the world and raise awareness for April 28, the national day of mourning in the construction industry.

This Travel bug is in memory of a friend and co worker was killed in a workplace accident. He is the reason I became a safety officer and a strong advocate for workplace safety.

On April 28, 80 countries worldwide will mark an official Day of Mounring to commemorate those workers who suffered work related injuries, illness and fatalitities. This annual rememberance serves as a reminder to employers and workers to do everything in their power to ensure the workplace environment is safe and healthy.

In 2011 nearly three workers died each day from a workplace injury or illness across Canada

Trying to remember how to log that I have placed the TB in the Waterways Water Ways cache GC30F7 today. I placed it there following the local International Day of Mourning Ceremony. I'll figure it out shortly, and log it properly.

Have been following the Day of Mourning for years and have attended some of the ceremomies. Sending the message around the world is a worthwhile cause.
