This trackable is found on our Suburban and you will find a Ikaika hanging on the rearview.
This Hawaiian icon is known by several names; Ikaika Helmet (e KY ka), Makini, and Hawaiian Warrior Helmets. Ikaika means strong in Hawaiian and Makini refers to helmet used by ancient Hawaiian canoemen. These are miniature versions of the helmets made from large carved gourds worn in ancient Hawaiian time. Today they are popular to add to a Hawaiian theme décor or to hang a car from the rear view mirror as a talisman.
If you see one of these hanging from a car or truck mirror, a proud Hawaiian is probably the owner.
