HARE AND TORTOISE RACE FOR BRITISH THYROID FOUNDATION
The Hare and the Tortoise will be racing each other to raise awareness for the British Thyroid Foundation (BTF) http://www.btf-thyroid.org/
One in 20 people will be diagnosed with a thyroid disorder at some stage in their lives. The BTF is a national charity that helps people avoid isolation and gain information, support and understanding about their condition.
Aesop’s Fable about the slow and steady tortoise versus the superfast hare will be put to the test for real, while highlighting underactive and overactive thyroid conditions.
The British Thyroid Foundation (BTF), based in Harrogate, Yorkshire, will be celebrating its 21st birthday in October with several events planned throughout the year.
The Hare and the Tortoise have been ‘released’ in ageocache in Harrogate, and will race their way from cache to cache, up towards Edinburgh in time for Gardening Scotland in June. http://www.gardeningscotland.com/about/
The animal nearest the venue at Ingliston, near Edinburgh, at the time of the Gardening Scotland event on 1st June will be the winner.
