About This Item

Echidna

The Echidnas can be found all over Australia and also in Papua New Guinea. They are mammals that lay eggs and produce milk for its young. They resemble the hedgehog and the porcupine in that they are covered by sharp spines. Normally the Echidna feeds on at night at ants and termites. The Aboriginals know many Dreamtime stories about this interesting animal.
The Echidna depicted on this piece of wood origins from Australia and takes off for its Travel from a little village high up in the mountains of Switzerland.
