Current Goal

The first trackable in memory of my Dad. It's aim is to travel to it's headquarters in Illinois USA and en route to touch base in Wnscombe in Somerset and Tredegar in Wales and to meet up with it's three brother trackables - Moose Purity, Moose Wisdom and Moose Progress.

About This Item

The first trackable in memory of my Dad who died on the 10th September 2011. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose (Brandon Lodge, Bristol) for many years. The order are a fraternal society whose main aim to to support charities and people in need.It is not a secret society. It is not a religious sect. Nor is it some kind of insurance scheme or a deer-hunting club. In fact Moose is an association of people who believe in a caring, sharing "family" society and who enjoy working towards it in the company of friends. Its odd sounding name stems from North America where, way back in 1888, Dr.Wilson, a man of Scottish descent had studied the moose and admired the way it protected the young and old of its kind, he subsequently founded a Society which he called The Loyal Order of Moose. Not too successful at first, the Society was given new life by the energy and foresight of British-born James J. Davis who, after establishing a flourishing network of Moose Lodges in America, returned to his Welsh birthplace at Tredegar and set up the first British MooseLodge in 1926. Central to the Moose are the values of Purity, Wisdom, Progress and Aid.

    Now this TB is placed in an Illinois cache! This locked ammo box should be a safe spot. We enjoyed this Wildlife Prairie Park on this warm late winter day! We saw bison, elk, eagles, wolves, foxes, otters, turtles, snakes, owls, and many other creatures, but no moose!
