The dolphin is in a cache on the shore of San Diego Bay, just underneath the take-off path of the airplanes from San Diego's Lindbergh Field airport. The cache is in a brand-new neighborhood called "Liberty Station," which was once the Navy's recruit-training center but has been re-developed into a residential and retail area. To see one of the remaining odd bits of the Navy's presence here, look at the descriptions of the two nearby caches named "USS Recruit".
