    Andy is a cacher
Yeah, I know, he sent his TB out on the line
But lately something's changed that ain't hard to define
Someone found his bug and wanted to make it thine
You know they wish they had
    Andy's Bug
    Wish they had Andy's Bug
Sure prized a TB like that
But it watched the kidnaper with those eyes
Hanting the thief consciences -- I just know it
So Andy and the company were dumped late, late at night
    No longer wanted
    Andy's Bug
Was too cruel to hang on to Andy's Bug
And it escaped just like that.
So we saved y'all from the rain
A few rehab tricks -- a little change
You know, you ended up looking very cute
You're ready to move now -- it's time to scoot
    You know, we'll all discover
    Andy's Bug
Wish better travels to Andy's Bug
Were sure sad to find his TB like that
    But we fixed
    Andy's Bug
    Bon voyage, now, Andy's Bug
Best TB fortune and that is that.
    Ciao!

GCA00VX Travel Bug Rehabilitation Event 10-22-2022
Recently, a fellow geocacher had come into possession of over 100 travel bug tags. How they ended up in such a sorry state, we’ll never know – but yay for the change of heart and dumping ‘em in a cache rather than the trash.

All were stripped of their hitchhikers. This event aimed to restore them to some semblance of travel ready. Attendees went through swag bags and junk drawers [*I* have SHELVES of boxes of accumula – tho not so much any more (lol)] for things that would make good hitchhikers. Not knowing what might be needed we brought just about everything. (Though left our bowling balls and cinder blocks at home.)
At the event, we picked out tags, all taped to a print out of its Profile Page with an original photo if available (wow, Danny/Racer57, that’s a LOT of work!). We examined what the original hitchhiker was, or, lacking a photo, its mission, then rummaged through the Table of Possibilities to find an appropriate item to attach to the naked tag. [Plenty of splitrings (oh, my poor thumbnails), ball chain, and wire available. Not to mention the ‘drill’ team making the nonholey fit for TB use.]
We were instructed to take a new ID shot the rehabbed tag and hitchhiker and load them in our logs.
Plenty of folks, plenty of tchotchkes (glad to know I’m not the only one who keeps STUFF – “hey, that would make a good cache/travel bug!”), and LOTS of fun times, despite the BLUSTERY morning. Many hands made light work and all these TBs were rendered fit to hit the road.
Here’s to no further misadventures!!!! Hooray! And especial thanks to Godot and Racer57 for the rescue.
