About This Item

2

Mid size coin with heft.  Unusual shape in that there is a "tag" sticking out from the round coin shape.  The front has very nice background metal texture.  The bottom half of the design is done in the design of railroad track spanning outward.  There is matte redish brown enamel on the ourter rim of this half and the inner half is dellicate 3-D metal work.  The top half is stong metal 3-D with slight use of the same color enamel.  The text reads "Evanston Roundhouse & Railards Evanston WY, USA".   The reverse has a background of translucent blue enamel and matte white enamel.  The medallion design appears to be a train engine directed at the viewer.  Benieth the blue is the traditional Geocaching "G" and the circle with the four quarter designs of Geocaching.  Just inside the outer rim is metal script that reads "Big Boy (4-8-8-4) and "www.evamstpmwy.org". The center of the medallion (and of the train) has a shield that has metal text in very small font that reads "2011".  The metal line and edge work on the engine is crisp and delicate.  There is a "tab" that sticks out of the round coin that contains the tracking number.  Excellent coin-------------So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new ones as virtuals.  If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands.  Thanks.  NR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually. After looking at the TB page for each TB that she discovered that I didn't I found a number of TB Codes necessary to discover the trackable where included on the TB Page or in the photo gallery. Sometimes there was an attempt to obsure or hide the TB Code that was not entirely successful making it easy to determine the code needed to discover the travel bug. I hope that even though virtual discoveries are becoming less common, you will not delete my discovered log. I only have two trackables that are activated and will gladly share the codes with you via the geocaching message center if you are interested in discovering them.

We have here temperatures like in Florida, in any case the next 7 days, longer these forecasts are not to be trusted. So it is nice to sit in the house and to be allowed to discover this great coin collection. Thanks for sharing and greetings from 7EVENCachers
