Chancing upon an auction, Scrooge decides to bid on the world's only supply of Bombastium, extracted at the Witch Raven Mines of the Belgian Congo, and ends up shelling out one trillion dollars and six kitchen sinks. Scrooge and his nephews rush off to Antarctica to put the Bombastium in guaranteed safe keeping, since the substance will evaporate if not constantly kept frozen.

In the meantime, at DIT, Dagobert Institutes of Technology, scientists search for a use for the substance. A large ball of Bombastium can be carried easily by a boy. Bombastium is characterized by its fractal taste, looks like colored ice, and might be used for nuclear fission.

While on their journey, Scrooge and his nephews are pursued by sinister agents from the country of Brutopia, who want the Bombastium too. As the agents find out about the use for the substance, they loose interest and destroy the note book with the position of the bombastium.

What is so special about Bombastium? The three nephews seem to be very interested in the element!

They find out that bombastium, when licked, will produce a totally different flavour with each lick! Imagine what a substance like that could mean to Uncle Scrooge's ice cream factory!

The Bombastium must be recovered. Gyro Gearloose will be able to estimate the position of the hidden ball, but he needs a lot of pictures from different places in the duck universe. Just the right task for the nephews. Their mission has completed, when each one has travelled a distance of about the circumference of the duck planet (40030km 24873miles) and collected photos of regional remarkable scenic landscapes. When the mission has completed, the Ducks return to their home cache (Slate Rock Trail GCGA2R). Afterwards may be licked!

Dagobert ersteigert für eine Billion Taler und sechs Kühlschränke die gesamte Ausbeute der Mandragora-Mine in Simbalesien: eine kleine Kugel Bombastium, das seltenste Element der Welt. Da Bombastium unbedingt gekühlt werden muss, vergräbt Dagobert die Kugel in der Antarktis.

Gleichzeitig wird in Dagoberts Forschungsabteilung fieberhaft gearbeitet, noch niemand weiß, wofür Bombastium eigentlich zu verwenden ist. Eine große Kugel Bombastium kann ohne weiteres von einem Knaben getragen werden. Bombastium zeichnet sich durch seinen fraktalen Geschmack aus, ist leichtgewichtig, sieht aus wie gefärbtes Eis und man nimmt an, es könnte sich zur Kernspaltung eignen.

Der Agent von Brutopia, einer offenbar diktatorisch regierten Nation, ist den Ducks gefolgt, doch als das Geheimnis des Elements gelüftet ist und er erfährt, dass Bombastium ausschließlich zur Herstellung von Speiseeis geeignet ist, verliert er das Interesse daran und vernichtet das Notizbuch, in dem Dagobert die Position des Bombastiums vermerkt hat.

Was ist denn nun das Besondere an Bombastium? Die drei Neffen scheinen an dem Element sehr interessiert zu sein!

Sie finden heraus, dass Bombastium Eis jedes mal anders schmeckt, wenn man daran leckt! Man kann sich vorstellen, was dass für Dagobert's Eisfabriken bedeuten könnte.

Das Bombastium muss unbedingt wiedergefunden werden. Daniel Düsentrieb wird die Position der vergrabenen Kugel ermitteln können, wenn ihm genügend Bilder von unterschiedlichen Orten des Duck-Universums zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Genau die richtige Aufgabe für die drei Neffen. Ihre Mission ist erfüllt, wenn sie jeweils eine Entfernung vom Umfang des Duckplaneten (40030km 24873miles) zurückgelegt und von jeder besuchten Region ein markantes Landschaftsfoto mitgebracht haben. Danach kehren sie zum Heimatcache (Slate Rock Trail GCGA2R) zurück und es darf geschleckt werden!
