My owner is a Drama Director and professional actress. Her degree is in theatre and she LOVES visiting theaters. Notice the different spellings between "theatre" and "theater". Some people think "theatre" is British and "theater" is American. This is actually a common misconception. TheatRE refers to the field of theatre itself. TheatER is the actual building. So you could say, "We're going to the theater to watch some theatre."
