This trackable coin wants to travel the world from it's first home in Chemainus B.C. Canada, around the world and then home again someday. It's mission is to show the world the clever currency developed by the community of Chemainus. It's 1st destination is Australia. Please move the this trackable from cache to cache until it returns home. This sun/moon coin is travelling with a Chemainus Dollar. Chemainus Dollars are multi-denomination currency created by the town of Chemainus and is a recognized method of payment in Chemainus Town. It is one of 4,000 such independant currencies currently in use throughout the world. The coin motif is common to some aboriginal groups within British Columbia. The Chemainus Currency depicts both First Nations culture and subjects indicative of the Art of Emily Carr who is well know for her paintings of B.C. landscapes and First Nations villages, and symbols.
