US Army 2012 Geocoin
This is the Army Geocoin of the military geocoin series created to commemorate the military and veteran geocachers. I got this coin to honor my Father, who served in the Army from April 2, 1951 to April 5, 1953. He was in the radio communications and repair. He spent some of his time at Fort Monmouth NJ, but also was stationed in Asmara, Eritrea.
This coin is vibrant in color. On a light green background, the eagle emblem in gold, holding an olive branch in one talon and a bungle of 13 arrows in the other with the flag on it's chest. And a darker green edging with the wording of the United States Army. On the back of the coin are images done in gold of tanks, helicopters, humvees, paratroopers, on the dark green background. The wording of the Army motto of "This We'll Defend" is on back. A very beautiful geocoin.
