All across the US and Europe there were a multitude of 11-11-11 events planned and attended by many, many Geocachers the world over. This is one of many highly prized Geocoins prepared for this unique day in history. "Eleven" is written in 10 languages around the front edge of this beautiful coin. It will reside in BirkieHiker's Geocoin Collection.
11-11-11 is not only a recurring number date, but Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day observed by Commonwealth countries. It serves to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in service since World War I. The date was chosen as Armistice Day, for ending WWI, and took effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.
