Here is My Sisters account of Vinnie going to the Cache
This cache became my sole mission while in Australia. I am from Canada and was recently in Oz for a couple of weeks, visiting a friend in Brisbane.
"Vinny the Super Pickle" flew from Canada to Oz nearly 2 years ago when my friend was visiting me. Alas, she doesn't geocache (or find technology very interesting at all) so when I showed up in Brisbane (with GPS in hand), sure enough, there was Vinny at the airport, along for the ride to pick me up.
My mission was not easy for a few reasons, the fact that my friend didn't have a PC, I didn't get any Brisbane caches off the web before hand, and of course, I didn't even know which way was up in Brisbane. :)
My time there was short, so my itinerary was actually quite busy, what with the Steve Irwin Zoo and all. All I knew was that I had to get the pickle into a chache. I think I may have called it the "stupid pickle" a couple of times (no hard feelings, Vinny).
My flight home left Brisbane on 11am on a Sunday. Let's just say Vinny made it in, I almost missed my flight, and if you're looking for a bit of an edge, doing this at the last minute turned into some extreme geocaching. How much longer will I look for this cache... what is my threshold before I miss my flight?
I walked way, way, way down a path and all I could think of was, crap I have to climb back up this. If there was any great thing to come out of the pain, panic and stress that Vinny graced my trip with, it is this: while looking for this cache I saw a wild kangaroo, hopping along through the trees, and I wasn't in a zoo. Neat. :)
The cache was in good condition, the brush was very wet, as Brisbane had just experienced a very rare couple days of solid rain. I tried to be as tidy as possible, but it was very wet and I was under the wire with my flight (I think I may have mentioned it in the log book). I managed to stuff Vinny in there pretty good, but it was tight. :)
I didn't leave anything. I was wishing I had some cool, Canadian thing to leave in there but I don't think there would have been room, anyway.
Thanks for the spectacular view of Brisbane after 2 weeks in your beautiful city. :) Cheers from Canada.
