Sabertooth is off to Florida Theme Parks
By Jacari, Aden and Michael
September 3, 2014
We would like our tractable to go to Florida to visit several theme parks. We would really like him to see Lego Land, Disney World and SeaWorld.
Lego Land has over 150-acres of theme park. It has 10 different main attractions. It took a 17 months to build Lego Land. It took 50 million Lego bricks to build Lego Land. The tickets cost $60 a piece to get into Lego Land. About 70 thousand people visit the park.
About 17.2 million people go through the Magic Kingdom a year. The resort is about the size of San Francisco. Disney World has been opened since 1971. Disney World closed three times, all because of hurricanes including Sept 15, 1999, for Floyd; Sept. 4-5, 2004, for Frances; and Sept. 26 of that same year for Jeanne.
A visit to SeaWorld will cost $53 for adults and $43 for children ages 3-9. SeaWorld opened in March 5, 2007. More than 50 million people visit the part a year.

Killer the Saber-toothed tiger is one of 20 travel bugs that were set off in 2013 as part of a school project for 2nd and 3rd grade students of St. Elmo Center for Gifted Education in Columbus, Georgia. Students will follow Killer and the other trackables as they travel the world. Geography, research and mileage calculations are all part of the experience for these gifted students.
Killer the Saber-toothed tiger is off to Colorado for his first Mission
By Emma and Ben
We hope Killer will enjoy chasing the Colorado Hairstreak butterfly, which was chosen as the official state insect on April 17, 1996. This very beautiful insect has purple wings with black around them, areas of orange in the corners, and blue on the underside edges. The insect of beauty is easy to tell apart by the thin and small tail sticking out of the bottom of the wings and by the pretty colors. This butterfly is big in beauty but is only two inches wide. These butterflies go on a diet of tree sap, raindrops, and honeydew.
We would also like Killer to see the Rock Mountain Columbine Flower. Did you know The Rock Mountain Columbine Flower was named the official state flower of Colorado in 1899 after winning the vote of school children? Columbines bloom in shades of red, violet, yellow, and white. Did you know there are 70 species of Columbine in the world and they are native North America? The state song is “where the Columbines Grow.” The state general assembly made it illegal to uproot the flower on public lands.
