Attended Geocaching 101. Thanks to Geocaching NSW for this great get-together! I really like to see life the spindctors spinning, richary talking about where he was and goes, reviewers, magellan and kiwi's opinions... good to see the old an new friends.
Never looked deeper into magellan, as I am still with the very basic etrex-h and a recent etrex venture I acquired in the US for $80 only - they wanted getting rid of it! My etrex consumption is quite high though! Lots of things happening in the outdorrs, the bush and mountains, or the salt water at seas. Or even in the car: some years ago, I had a newly acquired etrex, 5 days old, heading to K'Gari, passing the city of Brisbane, when it fell out of the open window and oops, the next car drove over it! would a maggelan resist? well, if you take them as a hammer! See, that's why we still do materials science and engineering on metals, including solder, which holds your electric contacts together. The mechanical forces when hammering, or just dropping on a polished granite floor, are enormeus! so have't seen thatbefore.... you can use your mobile device for almost anything, phots, sound recording, geocaching, music playing, tv, internat etc etc, but driving nails into the table was quite impressive!
Some good tips we got and experiences. Some hints for my upcoming China trip, and how to hide a cache there! tronadors news from Nepal! but ack to the beinning: I must plan a trip to south new zealand, now (next year, this year is full with travel, apart from August).
And again, through this event, geocaching brough suparki-12 and me into another part of the world I would not have gone: Parramatta. Well, I have been, once, when we arrived in Sydeney, 8 years ago, taking the ferry there... Sought spindoctors earthcache and a DNF in the city... good chinese food to get started, xie xie!
Thanks all involved, keep caching,
