   La Ford Thunderbird est, à l'origine, une voiture sportive à deux places,
conçue pour concurrencer la Chevrolet Corvette. Elle fut lancée en 1955 et
devient un succès, avec 16.000 exemplaires vendus la première année.

Jusqu'en 1957, date de la fin de la première série, il y aura en tout
53.166 exemplaires sortis des chaînes.

Sous le capot, on trouve un bon gros V8, une coutume sur les voitures américaines,
sa cylindrée est de 5L. Ce moteur atteint 200HP, et permet à la voiture
d'atteindre 160km/h de vitesse de pointe.
