I am on a mission to travel the world. I represent the spirit and friendship of scouting. If you could drop me at scout sites, all the better!
The Pickle and Ketchup are friendship tokens that are worn on the shirts of Troop 591 patrols. We have been giving these away for many years, when we go to summer camp, Jambo or other scout outings. We have given away many Pickle pins as a token of friendship. The Ketchup pins were fewer and we only gave those out to scouts who earned them by doing something of special.
Why Pickles and Ketchup? The Pickle Pin started in 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair and has been updated since. The Ketchup was introduced in 2000. One of the scout masters who founded the troop was very good at acquiring trinkets and got Heinz to donate a bunch. There are but a few left in the troop, but we send these two off to travel the world and share the scout spirit.
