Current Goal

Daisy Dolphin  has been sent on a mission by her friend Cami.  Cami  would like for Daisy Dolphin to ultimately be able to dip her fins into the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.   Dolphins should not be out of water for too long, so maybe Daisy Dolphin can find a pond, stream, river or pool on the way to her destination.  Daisy Dolphin is in race with Evan Eagle to see who can log more miles, a fish or a bird.  Cami will be following Daisy Dolophin's progress. She would love to have pictures of Daisy having a swimmingly good time along  her journey.

Daisy Dolphin is a Travel Bug dog tag attached to a 6" plastic grey dolphin.

Not all dolphins live in seawater.  There are some species that live in fresh water: the river dolphins.
Dolphins sleep with one half of their brain plus one eye closed, then switching to the other side of the brain and the other eye closed during other parts of the day --slowing down everything inside their bodies and moving very little.
Dolphins are mammals. They can swim up to 260 m. below the surface of the ocean.
There are 36 different kinds of ocean dolphins and 5 species of river dolphins.
Dolphins are warm-blooded and eat fish and squid.
Dolphins can stay under water up to 15 minutes, but cannot breath under water.
Dolphins communicate through sounds and whistles.
They use a technique called echolocation to find food and navigate.
