Oregon (proxy)

This coin is part of a series of coins commemorating the first cache in each state.  I'm proud to hail from the state where geocaching began.  The first cache in Oregon is called the original stash.  It was first hidden in May 2000.  It went inactive before the birth of geocaching, but it has a page anyway.  Today you can find it's replacement the un-original stash which was hidden in October of 2000, and the Original Stash Tribute Plaque which was placed in 2003.  One of the orignal items placed in the cache is now a trackable that you might find at an event some day.  

  • In May 2013, having traveled around for 8 months, my little coin went missing.
  • In September 2015, having been missing for two years, I am activating a proxy.
