The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner by the White Star Line. She was built by the Harland & Wolff shipyard and was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage (April 2012).
She was supposed to work on the route Southampton–Cherbourg–Queenstown–New York, New York–Plymouth–Cherbourg–Southampton.  Because of her brandnew security technique she has been called unsinkable.

On 14. April 1912 at 23:40 the Titanic colidated with an iceberg on her maiden voyage app. 300 sea miles south easter from Neufundland. 2:40 h later the Titanic broke and sank. Because of the low number of safety boats app. 1500 of 2200 people died. This desaster is one of the biggest ones in the history of the seafaring.

In 2012 we commemorate the 100th anniversary of this desaster.
