About This Item

It's a Lock! as it is now.

This lock was found in a geocache in the Mojave Desert. It had no key with it, so we figured the thing to do was to make a TB out of it. It's a tiny little thing, too. What it would love is to meet up with some of its bigger colleagues, and have its picture taken with them. Maybe it can visit a locksmith's shop, or even a factory where locks are made. :-)

Retrieve It from a Cache 10/29/2004 Clank32 retrieved it from A "Wonder"ful Cache Bahamas   Visit Log

I was a little worried that, after two hurricanes, this guy might have become an underwater TB. Luckily, the cache was right where it was supposed to be, though the vegitation was a little brown and beaten down. The lock had had enough of rain and wind and sun for a while. He will be placed somewhere a little less active soon.

Dropped off It's a Lock travel bug far from home. It was dropped off on Gorda Cay, Bahamas. Gorda Cay is now entirely owned by Disney, has been renamed (at least by Disney) as Castaway Cay, and serves as the island stop for the Disney Cruise Line.

The spot is appropriate for It's a Lock if you pronounce "Cay" correctly. (key!)

Hopefully a future cruiser/geocacher will pick him up and continue his travels. The cache gets visited fairly frequently.

This poor bug hasn't even left California in over a year. I may have a chance shortly to rectify that situation.

  • (B)Lock Party! It's a Lock TB is going on a trip soon, so we decided to throw a (B)Lock Party for him and a few of his friends.

I grabbed this one from the Cordilleras Creek cache. I've got a nice old Russian lock to take its picture with. Then we'll move it along.

  • Big Brother I got this big old lock in Russia 14 years ago, and it's been sitting around just waiting for this moment. Why did I buy this lock? Yes, that is a good question.

I dropped this bug into Cordilleras Creek cache, but for some reason it doesn't show up in my inventory anymore.
