November 7, 2012 will be our 25th wedding anniversary. My husband promised to show me the world. Thank-you in advance for moving us along.
My husband was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (A rare form of bone marrow cancer) in October 2010 which transformed itself into Plasma Cell Leukemia by April 2011. He went through 10 months of chemotherapy before being accepted by Stanford for a Bone Marrow Transplant. Both diagnosis have no known cure as of yet. Be the Match is where our donor was found. William beat his Plasma Cell Leukemia odds of 4 in 10 Million but the complication of the transplant (Graft Versus Host Disease) is what took him from us almost a year to the day from being diagnosed with cancer. Every year 10,000 patients with blood cancers like leukemia and other life-threatening diseases need a bone marrow transplant but have no donor match in the their family. They depend on Be The Match to help them find an unrelated donor and received the transplant they need. Be The Match gave us "HOPE" to get to the other side to better health. Only half of the patients that need a donor each year get one. Learn more about how you could be the one to save a life at www.bethematch.org
