About This Item

005

The TB is a small Inuksuk with a Saskatchewan provincial flag TB tag.

An Inuksuk is a symbol of Inuit culture from the tundra region of Northern Canada. Inuksuk means " something which acts for or performs the function of a person". It is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans from Alaska to Greenland. There are few natural landmarks in the northern tundra, so they were used to mark navigation routes, food caches, locations of special significance, or to herd caribou into a contained area. Originally, they were a single stone in an upright position but have evolved into the human shaped structure. It is believed that this evolution was aided by European explorers and missionaries.

Today the Inuksuk is an internationally recognized symbol of northern Canada. It appears on the flag and coat of arms for the territory of Nunavut. It was a part of the logo for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Well this one has been in my possession before - and I gave it to Inuksuk Builder. Today I found the cache she dropped it in (and it's been there a while), so I grabbed it again and will move it along soon!
