The mission of this TB is to travel to sites of historic and modern mountain man rendezvous and then travel to Italy to visit Trieste, Bologna, Monza, Torino and Venezia then to Bern and Zollikofen in Switzerland, then to Amsterdam, London and back to the USA, to Washington D.C. Denver Colorado, and back to Wyoming to its origin at the Bear River Rendezvous at Evanston.
This medallion was obtained at the historic 25th reenactment of the Bear River Rendezvous held annually at the Bear River State Park at Evanston Wyoming. Each of the previous event leaders called the Booshway and his assistant called Segundo were recognized for their efforts. Events at these weekend rendezvous include shooting of muzzleloaded rifles, throwing tomahawks, trap setting, fire starting with flint and steel, story telling, Dutch oven cooking, buying, selling, trading and much more with competitors dressed in garb reminiscent of the era. It has traveled to the site of the 1838 rendezvous at Riverton WY and Fort Bridger, the site of many historic Mountain Man activities. There are many more sites, modern and historic that he wants to visit before and after representing the American Mountain man in Europe, where the beaver pelts were in great demand during the early 19th century for fashionable headwear. Please help him along!
