Amelia Earhart TB

Amelia Earhart was... well, you probably know who she was, and if you don't, we don't need to copy and paste the Wikipedia article about her here; you can follow the link if you want to read it. We've had this McToy for a while, but now that, 75 years after her disappearance near Howland Island in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, there is an expedition underway to attempt to recover the remains of the Lockheed Electra she was flying with navigator Fred Noonan (which, by the way doesn't even remotely resemble the cross between a biplane and a bar of soap that this TB's aircraft looks like), we thought it would be a good time to release it and see if the geocaching community can help it reach its goal. Photos would be great!

PS: We've released this trackable on the 11th anniversary of the day we joined geocaching.com, which is also the day before the 115th anniversary of Amelia's birth.

Good day Team Tierra Buena; we have a very small dilemma, we made an assumption when we retrieved this TB that it was logged into the cache that we found it in and we would be able to retrieve it electronically when we returned home. freshair4me and I just returned from our two week Alaska cruise and more then likely did several of the same caches that you did. We did the Ladybug motel on the 29th of Aug. For simplicity sake we can drop this TB back in this cache and then make another log entry to retrieve it from this cache. We are in Mission BC and will drop this TB off in a cache very soon.

We were having so much fun on our cruise that we lost track of time, money... and this travel bug! We can't remember the cache in which we finally placed it. 🤕 It was either one of the caches we did in Vancouver, BC or one of the Alaskan cruise ports.

Anyway, if you're the one who finds it, please email us so we can "drop" the TB where you picked it up and reconcile the bookkeeping. Thanks very much.
