Das Brandenburger Tor hat keine Lust mehr auf sein tristes Dasein als Schauobjekt. Sich täglich auf die Füße treten zu lassen und ständig im Rampenlicht zu stehen gefällt ihm gar nicht. Es hat mal eine Auszeit verdient und braucht Urlaub.
Deshalb habe ich es in einer Nacht- und Nebelaktion auf Daumengröße geschrumpft, es mitgenommen und dafür ein täuschend echtes Duplikat hingestellt. Keiner wird es merken.
Es hat auch ein Ziel. Unbedingt einmal am berühmten Waikīkī-Strand auf der Insel Hawaiʻi stehen und das Meer rauschen hören. Und natürlich auf dem Weg und am Ziel sich mit Jedermann und Jederfrau fotografieren zu lassen.

The Brandenburg Gate is tired of his miserable existence as a spectacle. Constantly being in the spotlight he do not like. It has even earned a break and need vacation.
Therefore, I´ve shrunked it in a cloak-and-dagger operation to thumb size, took it and leaved behind a real duplicate. They'll never know.
It also has a target. Necessarily to stay on Waikīkī beach on the island of Hawaii and hear the ocean roar. And of course to be photographed with everyone on the way and on destination.

Das Brandenburger Tor in Berlin steht am Pariser Platz in der Dorothenstadt im Ortsteil Mitte.
