Current Goal

4-H is a youth serving organization enrolling millions of youth across our nation and beyond.  4-H works to develop life skills in youth helping them to be active, contributing citizens of a globally minded world through a "learn by doing" approach.  4-H is a part of the Cooperative Extension System of the nation's 109 Land Grant Universities.

This travel bug is being put into motion by a 4-H club from Middletown, NY called the 4-H Flyers.  Our goal is to make connections with other 4-H organizations around the world as our travel bug travels from place to place.  In doing so, we are asking for help with a mission that is a little bit complex.  We are asking that fellow geocachers who move the cache might take a few minutes to make a phone call to their local Cooperative Extension office.  Finding the resource should be as easy as doing a quick google search about Cooperative Extension in your state and then seeking out the county office near your location.  We are asking that you call and explain that a 4-H Geocaching Club from NY is hoping to make a connection with their office and ask that they might offer up a 4-H trinket of some sort to add to the travel bug chain. (we are starting it with a 4-H Keychain , Pin, and and Sticker envelope).  When you and the travel bug visit the office we are hoping that you can upload a photo of yourself and the 4-H staff.  Some offices may not know what geocaching is but we are spreading the word and teaching...all in the name of 4-H.

If the mission is too great...simply move the bug on...(we understand!) but the kids are hoping for some courageous souls that will go the extra mile and help us fulfill our real goal.

At some point in time, we would love for the bug to return to us in Middletown, NY (4-H Flyers Kidz Cache) so that we can share with our larger 4-H community about our success in making connections with 4-Hers around the world.  In the meantime we will continue to monitor it's journey and enjoy the ride!

Thank you for your support in helping us to make this mission a success!

Attached an appropriate host to the TB tag (we found it lonely by itself without a traveller attached) and have dropped it off in an awesome HUGE cache near Spokane.

We're not sure what was supposed to be attached to this travel bug tag. We found it at a cache in Parksville. (GC6133J) We found the tag not even in the cache, but saw it when we went to replace the cache back inside the log where we found it. There was nothing else around, but we picked this up anyways and thought that we would get this moving. Maybe we'll attach something to it if we can find something.
