About This Item

Biking With Tony

 

We created this travel bug for Tony/Dad this Christmas of 2012 congratulating him for riding a total of 775 miles (1,247 km) this year at the age of 93! He regularly goes on 7 - 8 mile bike rides with us. He has ridden every trail in Loveland. We've placed a cache series while Biking with Tony and now we added this travel bug too.
Since Tony doesn't  travel out of town now, we think it would be fun following his TB together via google earth and photos of its travels.

2013 Biking, age 94: Tony completed 750 miles (1,207 km). He would have liked to have ridden more, but the weather at the end of the year wasn't optimal.

2014 Biking, age 95-96: Getting a slow start due to the snows & a cold, windy winter. August: 500 miles (804 km) so far ridden.  Total for 2014 = 703 miles (1,131 km).

2015 Biking, age 96 - Still biking! Only few times so far (March). Dad doesn't go biking below 62f (17c), nor 2 days in a row. As of July 4th - Tony has ridden 300 miles (483 km).

 2015 Biking, age 97 - as of December, Tony has ridden 600 miles (966 km). Unless we have a warm day in December, & not too windy, this should be his total for this year.

2016 Biking, age 97-98: On his first ride of the New Year (February 25th). Tony got on his bike and rode 8.5 miles!

2017 Biking, age 98: Looking forward to better weather to start biking out doors...more later.
