About This Item

Krtek

Krtek is a cartoon character which was created by in Czech animator Zdeněk Miler 1956. Known in other countries as - Slovak Krtko; German Der kleine Maulwurf; Hungarian Kisvakond; Polish Krecik; Finnish Myyrä; Russian Кротик. 

Krtek is a mole who teaches children how to handle situations, how to treat people and in short "How to be". He teaches children qualities which are important.

In December 2012, our family went to Czech Republic, where Krtek originates from. Every single toy shop has an entire section dedicated to this adorable character.

On May 16, 2011 Krtek was present on board the Space Shuttle Endeavour where it accompanied the U.S. astronaut Andrew Feustel, whose wife is of Czech ancestry, on the STS-134 mission! (reference: wikipedia)
