Current Goal

Two BattleBot trackables have been created to battle each other: BioHazard and OverKill. Usually Battlebots do their best to destroy each other using whatever means available. Since this isn't possible for Geocaching trackables I've decided their battle is to race to the east coast and back home to Las Vegas. The validation for reaching the east coast is "within sight of the Atlantic Ocean". Please document this feat with a picture before sending the trackable on its journey back to Las Vegas.

Thank you all who help these BattleBots with their battle. May the best Bot win.

To see OverKill's rival, search for "Battlebot Challenge - BioHazard" with trackable ID TB55C0A.

Battlebot Challenge Update (September 5, 2016):

It's been over 2 years since I updated the challenge my 2 trackables started in 2012 and there have been some big developments.

BioHazard reached the Atlantic Ocean with the help of Smashing Ground on September 25, 2014. Shortly thereafter it was dropped off in Indiana and discovered as recently as last month. With the competitor reaching the home state BioHazard needs to pick up the pace back to Las Vegas.

On July 10, 2016 OverKill made it back to Nevada near Lake Tahoe with the help of Marjar2 and has a chance of winning the race if it can get back to Las Vegas.

The battle heats up as the 2 battlebots race back to Las Vegas to try to claim victory in the challenge that started 4 years ago. Once again I say good luck to both and may the best bot win!

Battlebot Challenge Update (May 6, 2014):

Flyingmommy picked up OverKill in Michigan on April 18, 2014. An 1100 mile tip to Florida and back didn’t quite get OverKill to view the Atlantic Ocean. Finally on May 3rd, Overkill made the 626 mile trip with Flyingmommy and her 8-year-old to Boston Massachusetts to beat BioHazard to the Atlantic Ocean. You can visit the log at geocache “The Dream Capsule” (GC4DE4R). OverKill has traveled over 6000 miles visiting 90 caches to complete the first part of the challenge while BioHazard has traveled 11700 miles visiting 368 caches (mostly on the west coast). I think I need to remind BioHazard what the challenge is about.

OverKill will now attempt to make it home to Las Vegas to win the challenge. BioHazard has some work to do to catch up but this is Geocaching, anything is possible and either can still win the challenge.

Good luck to both and may the best bot win!

About This Item

OverKill

This trackable is a keychain replica of an original BattleBot from the television series that played from 2000-2002. Here is the description from Wikia ( http://battlebots.wikia.com/wiki/Overkill) :

OverKill was a heavyweight robot that competed in all five televised seasons of BattleBots. It was built by the experienced Team Coolrobots, and sponsored principally by Wizards of the Coast. It was a standard wedge-shaped robot armed with a very large torque-reaction "Rambo knife." While not particularly damaging, the visual appeal and wide attack range of the swinging knife were heavily influential in judges' decisions. The blade was made of a high-tensile steel, effectively making it a "spinner killer" - spinners that hit the blade would often end up breaking their own weapon. In addition to being invertible, Overkill proved to be very durable. Consequentially, it never lost by KO. Overkill never won a championship but enjoyed a very successful BattleBots career, finishing runner-up in Season 4.0.
