This 1840 Penny Black Travel Bug is in a race against a 1840 Two Penny Blue to see who can clock up the most miles world wide. Please note that they are both facsimlies and worthless.
The Penny Black was the worlds first adhesive postage stamp used in a public postal system. It was issued in Britain on 1 May 1840, for official use from 6 May of that year. Contrary to most peoples beliefs it is not a rare stamp as there were over 68,000,000 copies printed. However a Mint stamp in good condition with 4 margins would cost approx. £3000/4000.
