Bambi Travel Bug

Bambi is a white-tailed deer in the 1942 American animated film directed by David Hand and produced by Walt Disney based on the book Bambi, A Life in the Woods by Austrian author Felix Salten.  Disney took the liberty of changing Bambi's species into a white-tailed deer from his original species of roe deer since roe deer do not inhabit the United States.  The white-tailed deer is more familiar to Americans.

Bambi's father is the Great Prince of the forest and his mother is unnamed.  His friends are Thumper, (a pink-nosed rabbit) and Flower, (a skunk).  His future mate is Faline.

The film received three Academy Award nominations:  Best Sound, Best Song, (Love Is a Song), and Original Music Score.  In June of 2008, Bambi placed third in animation of the best "10 Top 10".  In December 2011, the film was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
