The goal of this TB is to reach a cache located near the historic home of Juliette Gordon Lowe in Savannah, Georgia. The address of the home is 10 E Oglethorpe Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31401. Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of the Girls Scouts Organization. Juliette had an interesting life challenged by loss of hearing, war, and an unfaithful husband. However, she became friends with the founder of the Boy Scouts in Great Britain and brought the concept to girls in America. Juliette spent much time, energy, effort and personal funds to establish and grow the Girl Scout organization.
This TB is attached to Dog Scouts of America patch. Yes, the Dog Scouts! Dogs perform community service, learn new skills, get tested and qualify for merit badges. 60+ merit badges are available and can be earned in varied areas such as hiking, agility, canoeing, camping, lure course, scent work, art, herding, pet therapy, etc. The owner of this tag discovered Geocaching through the Dog Scouts.
