This TB is part of a race from Alberta, Canada to Geelong, Victoria, Australia!
Please move it along asap so it can continue in the race!
This is my TB that will hopefully zip its way back to Australia before the others!
What is this thing?
Attached is a CPU (processing unit) from a Server. This little guy came from a large transport company in Victoria Australia. Its old role was to hot Citrix Applications. Its very likely that it had a job to direct trucks to deliver their payloads.
By todays standards this guy is very slow, it is very likely that it was brought into production in 2001 - 2002
It is a 1.2GHZ Tualatin Pentium III-S variant, and was mainly intended for servers.
Back in it's day it was a very reliable and fast processor that many businesses depended upon.
After being tied up in the Server strike of early 2009 that made Headlines all across Australia, recovering from retirement it has decided to head to Canada to try and relive its glory days of fast processing as it tries to get to Australia first.
Geelong Advertiser 1st April, 2009: "Yesterday all servers in Australia went out on strike in a bid to get more RAM and better CPUs. A spokes person said that the need for better RAM was due to some fool increasing the front-side bus speed. In future, buses will be told to slow down in server motherboards."
