#garyinspiredme Travel Bug Dog Tag

I want to experience as many Colleges, Universities, ballparks, arenas, and hockey rinks throughout the U.S. and Canada before my friends graduate from college in May of 2016. No college or sport venue is too small or too big.


If you are in possession of this Travel Bug in April 2016 please contact the owner because we'd like to have it back around that time and we'll happily pay for mailing it back. Thank you for helping Gary on his trip of a lifetime!

Just slightly larger than a camera, this trackable is weatherproof (NOT, however, submersible). Since every day should be an adventure, take it along on a few of yours then leave it in a cache, or on a tree, or pass it on to another geocacher. Don't worry if it gets a little dinged up along the way - that's part of living :)


This trackable travel bug is in honor of our 18 year old son, Gary. Gary was the senior class President at Riverside Jr-Sr High School in Taylor, Pennsylvania. He battled alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma twice in High School-- his entire junior year, and at the end of his senior year.  He didn't win the second round. Gary died on May 19, 2012, the day after he attended his Senior Prom with his Hospice nurse. His surprise entrance into the ballroom hushed the crowd, where he stayed for only 45 minutes, enough time to be crowned Prom King. Luckily, Gary received his diploma as a hospice patient in early May, ranked 4th in his class of 117 students. He was to attend Villanova University for Civil Engineering, Class of 2016. Social media sites (Twitter & Face Book) trended #keepfightinggary in our community, state (PA), and nationally during his 2 weeks in hospice. Now follow  #garyinspiredme on Twitter. GARY #29
