The 'Keystone Elk Country Alliance' Travel Bug's mission (and the mission of my other Travel Bug 'I Love Elk Country') is to visit places that have anything to do with elk. Maybe it's a town that has an elk herd, like Benezette, PA. Maybe the name of the town has the word 'elk' in it like the starting location of this Travel Bug, Elkton, Maryland. Maybe stops over at a zoo and is photographed with the elk. We would love to see photos of the Travel Bug in and around elk themed places. The possibilities are endless.Be creative and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Elk rarely stay in one place too long, and neither should this travel bug- please keep it moving.
This Travel Bug is a wooden nickel that I bought at the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, PA. Before my recent trip to Benezette, I had never seen an elk in the wild. It was a very cool experience to see them living peacefully in the PA hills. If you have the chance, stop by the Visitor Center. It's one of the nicest visitor centers I've ever explored. Well designed, well constructed and very educational. http://www.experienceelkcountry.com/vc.html
I am an Outdoor Educator in Maryland and will be using this Travel Bug (and 'I Love Elk Country') to teach my students about geocaching, map skills, math, social studies and more! Help us learn by quickly moving this wooden nickel to it's next location.

In the Springs for a day of shopping and did a little caching on the way. What a beautiful day it was to be outside! Thanks for the TB :-) I love to move TB's along so they can travel the country. This beautiful Elk is now in the Rockies and will be dropped in a hotel as soon as I can.

Well - I can't hang on to this guy forever, and it looks like it'll be a good long while before I get to the area where is really like to drop him. It's only fair I let other cachers get a change to log this TB. Dropped in a private property-type of cache where it's sure to get discovered by more elk lovers!

Before this TB gets moved deep into Elk Country, It has taken part in what has been cleverly dubbed as "The Meeting of the Trackables". In an incredible twist of fate, 18 TBs on a journey around the world have ended up in one location. Took a pic to commemorate the meeting, and then it's off to put everyone on their next step in their journey!

Grabbed this on a cold cold Friday morning with a fresh layer of snow on the ground. Thanks for the incentive to get a cache before I head home ;). Will be moving along shortly!
After reading the story on this TB, maybe I will move it to a location where it can see lots of Elk - Maybe somewhere in the West Elk Loop here in Colorado? I love the West Elk Loop area!

Moved the TB to Colorado, home to many wild Elk, and Elk hunters. Let this at a relatively easy cache to help move it along. Good luck!
