"Daisy" was the nickname of Juliette Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scouts. In honor of her achievements, this travel bug would like to travel internationally to visit the four world centers of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) and Daisy's birthplace in Savannah, Georgia.
I have a great many keychains that I have collected, and I am ready for them to have some fun. This one is from my years as a Girl Scout, and depicts Juliette Gordon Low, or Daisy. While in Scotland, she met Lord Badenp-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts, and his sister Agnes, the founder of the Girl Guides. When she returned to Savannah in 1912, she formed the first American Girl Guides troop. The US branch was renamed Girl Scouts in 1915.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, or WAGGGS, is the world's largest volunteer organization for women and girls, and has over 10 million members in 145 countries. WAGGGS has four world centers: Pax Lodge in London, Our Cabaña in Morelos, Mexico, Our Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland, and Sangam in Pune, India.
