Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis. Published since June 19, 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield (named after Davis's grandfather); his owner, Jon Arbuckle; and Jon's dog, Odie. As of 2013, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals, and held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip.

Garfield is een strip gecreëerd door Jim Davis met in de hoofdrol de gelijknamige kat Garfield, zijn baasje Jon Arbuckle en de hond Odie. In Nederland verschijnt de strip dagelijks in de Telegraaf en in Vlaanderen in De Standaard en Het Nieuwsblad. De strip bestaat uit 3 plaatjes en de zondagstrip is meestal 6 – 7 plaatjes.
Garfield is een wereldwijd bekende strip. De strip staat zelfs in het Guinness Book of Records als meest verspreide strip ter wereld. Het succes leidde tot de creatie van een televisieserie, verschillende animatiespecials, een reeks videospellen, twee live-action films en een hoop merchandising.
