About This Item

Early in ouir family's caching career we attended an awesome event: Fearcacher Outbreak: A Zombie Eat and Greet.  It might have been our first event, in fact.  It was a Halloween costume party held on October 27, 2012.  It took place in a hotel near Vancouver, BC Canada where the event planner was the night manager.  He decorated their atrium in a very spooky fashion, organized creepy games, set up blood soaked decorations and even planted a couple of night caches outside in the hotel's garden.

It was such a huge, cool event that some local coin and swag dealers attended.  And we dropped some good money at those tables, I assure you!  The item that our then-9-year-old son selected was this coin: The Dragon Spinner.

He loved this coin so much that he didn't want to put it in a cache or even activate it.  He kept it safe in his room with his other treasures - special coins, geodes, minerals and fossils - until this summer when, at 15, he decided the box of special stuff was ready to find a new home.  He has not cached with us for at least 3 years but he knows that one of his parents is still a caching nut and the other parent kindly obliges me on most weekends and on every out of town holiday.  So, I graciously accepted it and enjoyed some memories of our early caching trips together, including a spring weekend in the Fraser Canyon of BC where we hunted Gold Country GeoTour ammunition cans together.

It's time to activate this beauty and send it out into the world.  My hope for it is incredibly simple yet also so difficult in real life: that folks keep it moving for everyone to enjoy and resist the temptation to liberate it for their own, personal enjoyment!  It's a pretty unusual and neat coin.  Enjoy it for a few days or weeks, then move it on.  Please consider Premium caches only.

I found this one today in the bottom of the box (instead of in with the log book and "TB" area). I have tried a bunch of combinations of letters and numbers to get this one logged properly for you, but am not able to get the right combination... If you know the right tracking code, could you send it to me? I would love to move it along. It's awesome... Thanks!

I don't usually discover too many trackables but this coin is an exception. I love it. Thanks for sharing!

I feel honoured to be the first one to move this coin. I too have one just like it. Showed the page to PEARLWIND who I bet is thrilled to see his event remembered in such a fond way.
