Hi Geocachers!

I am the West Midlands County Flag. I was given as a present in our friends' annual Geocaching party down here in South Wales and I am now in a competition with my friends to get to my designated destination of West Midlands in 1 year's time, at the end of October 2014. The other competitors also have County flags from various parts of Britain. Ideally I would like to end up in a cache as close as possible to the exciting and vibrant city of Birmingham. However, I will be happy to also end up in caches anywhere on the West Midlands map below - Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhamption being some of the great locations in this area.... the West Midlands is such an exciting area and can't wait to take in all the great attractions the region has to offer: there is the Black Country, great shops (eg Merry Hill), several top flight football teams and even a Chocolate Factory!

The winner of the competition is the one who gets closest to their designated county after 12 months. So, please help me to travel around Britain for the next few months seeing the sites and having fun! Feel free to upload a photo or two!

Thanks!

Birmingham Oct 2014: here we come - yipeeee!!!!!!!

So this TB race is only really a two-horse race between the West Midlands County Flag and the Herefordshire County Flag - see weblinks below

Meanwhile here is a brief 'blog' of my travels

Dec 2014

- Started my travels in deepest darkest South Wales

Jan 2014

- The legendary Mr sniffadogz took me to see Offas Dyke in picturesque border country near Hereford

- I then got taken up to Derbyshire

Feb 2014

- Those nice people Sally & Tim took me over to the lovely sounding Snipe Dales Country Park over in Lincolnshire and starting to clock up a few miles now - 212 at the last count.

Mar 2014

- Started Spring 2014 with a little trip to Lincolnshire - very nice county and happy to see the sites in this Eastern corner of England!

Apr 2014

Headed a little closer towards final destination, with a stop off at a nice sounding cachers' event in a Cambridgeshire pub before travelling to the eastern edge of the East Midlands area, not too far from Peterborough. Looking forward to some more more exciting visits soon!

Summer 2014

Had a very busy and exciting summer! Popped down to London for a geocache Event and got to meet some nice cachers. Then headed towards the South West, visiting Salisbury. Then I was taken up through Swindon area, and am now getting excited, because I've ended up near Wolverhampton, within sight of my desination of Birmingham. So, I may win the race!

Grabbed back to allow us to drop off as per Geocaching etiquette - grabbing is a last resort after a TB has failed to be dropped off & holder has not responded to requests to drop off, this way mileage is kept correct for the owner. We had Left in safe hands with a good friend at the Brummie Meet who must have passed to l1berum.
