Holzcoins sind besondere Trackables und deswegen nur discoverbar. Weiter unten auf dieser Seite findest Du ausführliche Informationen zu alledem. ENGLISH: If I have given you one of my 800 wooden geocoins personally or if you have found one of them in a geocache, you may either keep it as a memento or let it travel to another geocache: The decision is totally up to you! Wooden geocoins are a special kind of trackables: Since they are all »personal signature items,« you can only discover them, exactly like Travel Bug® stamps in logbooks for example. Wooden geocoins have been invented by the highly active geocaching community in the Czech Republic and they are very popular in all over eastern Europe now. Therefore, I decided to have my own ones for the European Geocoin Feast in Prague in September 2013. Although the detailed information on all this (below) is in German language only, click some of the links that will lead you then to several pictures to give you a good impression of what wooden geocoins are like. And in case that you have follow-up questions, just drop me some lines via the contact form on my personal profile page here.
ČESKA: Pokud jsem Ti daroval jednu ze svých dřevěných mincí (GWG) nebo jsi ji našel v nějaké keši, smíš si ji ponechat jako vzpomínku nebo poslat na další cestu a zároveň jí objevit logem »Discover it« (prosím nahrát obrázky): Dávám dřevěné mince ostatním kačerům, ale jeden jsem zanechal v galerii k prohlédnutí ostatními kačery. Neprodávej tuto dřevěnou minci, je to dárek. Pokud jsi tuto dřevěnou minci získal (osobně nebo z keše), můžeš si ji ponechat, nebo ji nechej cestovat z keše do keše. Záleží na Tobě a Tvém rozhodnutí. Nezáleží, jestli si tuto dřevěnou minci ponecháš anebo ji pošleš dál, protože má na zadní straně trackovací číslo. Dìky!

About This Item

»Wooden Geocoins«, also Geocoins aus Holz (genauer: in der Regel massiver Buche, gelegentlich auch aus edleren Hölzern oder Hölzer, die wegen einer schönen Maserung ausgewählt wurden), sind eine Erfindung der höchst aktiven und sowieso richtig tollen tschechischen Geocaching-Community und dort, sowie in den angrenzenden östlichen Ländern, unter Geocacherinnen und Geocachern wirklich sehr beliebt (»Czech Wood Geocoins«, CWG). Es gibt sogar eine tschechische Datenbank zu allen Designs (einige tschechische Geocacher suchen sogar gezielt nach meinen Woodcoins), professionelle Sammelschuber bzw. anderes Zubehör und CWG-Events, die alle immer von sehr vielen Menschen besucht werden. Viele Wood-Geocoin-Liebhaberinnen und -Liebhaber bauen sich eigene Banner ins Profil oder machen sich die Mühe, alle von ihnen gefundenen CWGs im Profil abzubilden.
 
Bei MEGA-Events bin ich mehrfach von Geocacherinnen und Geocachern aus Tschechien, der Slowakei, Polen, Bulgarien, Slovenien und Rumänien angesprochen worden, ob ich eine eigene »Wood Geocoin« hätte, was ich bislang leider immer verneinen musste. Beim MEGA in Berlin 2013 nun traf ich einen der führenden Hersteller von Wood Geocoins aus der Nähe von Prag, der mir ein überzeugendes Musterstück gab und später dann ein richtig gutes Angebot für eine größere Anzahl machte, was ich nicht ablehnen konnte ...
 
Und so hatte ich nun endlich auch, rechtzeitig zur GPS-Adventures-Maze-Ausstellung und zum Europäischen-Geocoinfest-MEGA in Prag im Spätsommer 2013 eigene »alsterdrache-Wood-Geocoins«. Die sind doch toll geworden, oder? Sogar mein Drachen-Mon kommt super rüber ... Der erste offizielle Einsatz der Holzcoins war allerdings schon auf dem MEGA in Prora auf Rügen am 31. August 2013; beim GPS-Adventure-Maze und dem MEGA in Prag sind dann genau 50 Stück von mir weitergegeben worden. Insgesamt gibt es genau 800 Stück; etwa 200 davon sind im Umlauf.
 
Normalerweise haben diese kleinen Teilchen gar keine Trackingnummer und dienen nur als individuell gestaltete Tausch- und Sammelobjekte bzw. Dankeschön-Geschenke zur Erinnerung an eine persönliche Begegnung. Einige sind allerdings auch trackbar (alle Geocoins derselben Serie tragen dann, wie meine hier auch, eine identische Nummer) und können, ähnlich wie Travel-Bug®-Stempel in Logbüchern oder eben reguläre Geocoins und TBs, auf Geocaching.com discovert werden.

    G’Day My Fellow Geocaching Friends from around the World,

    Today is the 20th April 2020 and I am currently on Lockdown due to the Corona Virus that is sweeping the world. I am using this time to go through the 1000,s of TB photos that are clogging up my phone, checking the virtual discovery pages on Facebook and logging every Trackable that I can find.
    So Here is a little about me. My name is Daniel Newton aka DARKSIDEDAN and I am from Canberra, Australia. I currently have just over 7000 Finds and 500 Hides. I have three personal Pathtags and a collection of over 8000 Pathtags and 500 Extagz. I also have four Personal Pathtags.

    I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with 157 caches in one day it would be too hard to write a different one for each cache.

    My endless search goes on and on
    Looking for treasures of every kind
    Always chasing just one more find
    Putting past DNF’s out of my mind

    I step out into the world outside,
    Seeking what is hidden from me
    What size, shape or form will it be?
    Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see

    Will I find my prize at the end?
    I will search in the failing light and cold
    Filling with despair having looked everywhere
    Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?

    Looking all around from every angle
    I read the logs and check the hint
    I curse out loud as I walk in circles
    Screaming the bloody thing it not there

    As time flies by and I fail to see,
    Never once stopping to realize
    It always been there before my eyes
    No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

    Thanks for taking the time to put your TB out into the world. This TB or Geocoin is part of the most impressive collection that I have ever seen. More than 1230 in total. I and so amazed at your collection. Well done and thanks for sharing it with me.
