Such a beautiful coin just cannot be sent off into the world to end up missing or stolen. It will stay in my collection to be discovered by my caching friends and new friends I meet on my journeys.
Interesting story with this coin... I was caching with sassydil when I found a Geocache that had this geocoin in it. I realized there was no tracking number soon after. Not rubbed off or worn down; the tracking number was never etched on... I guess this one was a fluke and missed that part of the production line??? I had hoped if it was logged into the cache, I could ask the owner for the tracking number, but that was a dead end. I tried contacting the manufacturer (hogwildstuff), another dead end... I mentioned the coin to Aaron, from CoinsAndPins, and he had me send photos of the coin so he could help solve the mystery. After much googling, neither of us could come up with what this coin was called. If we could do that, then he would be able to get me a tracking number with the correct icon that belonged to it. I wanted the correct icon instead of making it trackable with a generic icon. Several months later, I was looking at geocoins on ebay when I saw the same coin!!! It was called an Aquarius Benchmark Geocoin. I finally had a reference number to what this was. I sent the link to Aaron and he was able to get a tracking number to match the coin from Groundspeak and he etched it on for me. I did some more research for the coin write-up and now this is the end of a long mystery to the numberless geocoin...
