This is a very special Geo Coin but the mission is quite simple... to travel and stay safe, whether being retrieved, placed or even discovered.
Please keep this amazing coin moving and enjoy. Photos of the adventure would be wonderful.
If taken to events, please ensure it is logged both in and out correctly as several bugs have gone to meets and then have simply vanished, thanks.
These beautiful Seeing Stars geocoins were designed and commissioned to commemorate the wedding on the 10th of November, 2012 of the cachers Northern Rising and PurpleAngel.
They were designed by Northern Rising and only 100 coins were produced in a lovely Purple/Blue colour scheme. 50 were personalised and used as favours, the rest have no printing and some of these were offered for sale to other cachers on their first wedding anniversary.
That's 25 of each of the 2 variations that were made - so you have one of only 25 coins of this type in your hand. That's pretty special.
The coin is 40mm in diameter and 3mm thick. It is called 'Seeing Stars' and is trackable. Half have a blue border on the front and a purple border on the back, the rest are the other way around. The border is recessed with a Cletic pattern on both sides, overlaid with transparent resin in either blue or purple. It is a 'Suncatcher' style coin with the central star being made of translucent resin.
The star is either blue or purple, depending on the variation [colour matches the back border]. The 10 outer petals are also translucent and alternate between blue and purple. It really does look beautiful when held up to the light, especially natural light. The petals are interspersed with a textured recessed area, decorated with 8 Celtic knots. At the top of the coin is the Uffington Horse - an ancient chalk hill sculpture in Cambridgeshire, whilst at the bottom is the Green Man as seen in Mucking Church near Thurrock. All in all a super coin, so please enjoy.....
