To visit places in the world associated with the ships of Leith harbour, Scotland.
The ‘Little Michael’ was launched on November 1st 2003 in Leith harbour, Scotland. She was built in memory of the ‘Great Michael’, which was launched nearly 500 years ago in 1512. She hopes to sail to as many of the places that ships from Leith have visited in past times. These include ports in France, Belgium and Holland, Panama, the East and West Indies, New York city and even the islands in the south Atlantic. More recent ships travelled across the Firth of Forth to Fife, north to Aberdeen and the Orkney and Shetland Islands, and south to London. See the cache page ‘Ships, Claret & Golf’ (GCH59Y) for more information. Any seaport, old or new, has probably been visited by ships from Leith. Please take a photo of Little Michael at the ports she visits. At the end of her voyages, the ‘Little Michael’ hopes to sail back to Edinburgh, Scotland.
