AMTG EMC Of Northridge GC 1

Mid sized coin with heft. 1.5 inches 3 mm thick misty gold. The front of this coin has lots of slight 3-D work and lots of white enamel. The design work is very busy. This matches the standard 2006 reverse done on many personal coins. The front says "The best things I've found in geocaches are new friends!" and "EMC of Northridge CA" 2006. Nice coin.

Info on the coin:  The "Obsessed" Geocoin series was released in 2006 by four of the most obsessive geocachers in the world at the time..  This is now the 2nd coin from the "Obsessed" series. It comes from the then number 3 in the USA, EMC of Northridge, CA, a cacher from California who has been looking for cans since May 2003. In the years 2004 - 2011 there were over 3000 finds every year, but in the years that followed, caching declined very sharply. 

The obverse of the shiny gold coin shows the hobbies of EMC of Northridge, CA and their motto: "The best things I've found in geocaches are new friends! - The best things I've found in geocaches are new friends!"

So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new ones as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks.  KR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
