My mission is to make it to The Gathering of Nations 2007. My brother coins are heading to some other big powwows, but in many ways, this is the old biggie for American Indian dance. Held the last weekend in April at "The Pit" in Albuquerque, NM. Visit www.gatheringofnations.com for more information on the event.
That's a year from now - meanwhile I'd like to help others learn about Native American culture by visiting powwows across the Western United States. There's a powwow virutally every weekend in most geographic areas of the United States. In Southern California, you can visit (visit link) to see a calendar of events, whereas powwows.com has a more broad list covering most of the large events across the country.
I've seen videos of Gathering of Nations; it is incredible. The entire floor of The Pit is covered in dancers and drums, dancers holding their large feather bustles over their heads so that more dancers can come down out of the stands. It is an awe inspiring experience.
Alas, I can never get away for this event. I have to live with just videos. Hopefully the geocoin will make it where I won't, and someone will be able to behold with their own eyes this incredible event.
Meanwhile - EVERYBODY POWWOW! Powwows are American Indian block parties, in many respects. Yeah, the dances are pretty specific and different, but most powwows have round dances where the public can join in and learn the steps themselves. Plus there's frybread, everyone's favorite treat; some folks love it with powdered sugar while others prefer the Indian Taco - a frybread covered with beans, meat, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.
Come enjoy my culture, watch the dances, join in, have a great time!

Missing from cache, perhaps the owner could retrieve it to remove the icon so others are not disappointed.
The tracking number can be found by the owner by opening the travelers page, the number is located on the right hand side under tracking options.
This does not affect someone from logging the traveler should it turn-up in their caching bag someday.

We hate writing notes like this, but it has to be done 😟 This geocoin is NOT in the Shaky and the Bandit cache near Big Bear Lake. It has already been reported missing once, and this confirms it. Please do other cachers a favor, and retrieve your geocoin so that it no longer shows up in the cache listing. Thank you!
