This is my first trackable. Please do not hold onto it for longer than a few weeks, and be sure to log it!
When I was a Junior Counselor at Camp Potomac Woods in Leesburg, Virginia, I got this poodle as a reward for completing a training program to prep me for my new job. New campers would feel homesick during the long week from home. To comfort them, I would let them keep this little pink poodle overnight, or until they felt okay. Making the child feel responsible for a stuffed animal helped them feel accomplished and important, especially because a camp counselor trusted them with a personal item that meant a lot to them.
As I've gotten older, and I'm moving away from home, I have so many odds-and-end items that mean a lot to me and I would love to keep, but I do not have a place or use for. I've decided to pass this valuable pooch onto the geocaching community. So many new campers have protected and cherished this little stuffed animal, and I hope the geocachers who pass this dog on will continue it's legacy.
Take care of my little pink poodle, and try to help it move out of the country to honor the plethora of international camp counselors that became my best friends over the long summer.
