ERIN - Women's World Cup's Biggest Fan

GOAL:  Our mission is for this TB to travel from cache to cache visiting the eight cities and/or states that are fielding teams in the newly organized "National Women's Soccer League." These states and/or cities are, as follows: New Jersey, Boston, Chicago, Washington (State), New York (State), Seattle, Portland, and Kansas City. At least one stop at a minimum in each case is acceptable (Movement within an area is okay too). We are hopeful that this can be accomplished by the time of the 2015 WORLD CUP SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS to be held in five Canadian cities. It would be great if our TB could make at least one final stop in Canada (Love our Canadien neigbors/brothers and sisters from the North) before returning home to Western New York (Niagara Falls/Lewiston area) after the games are complete. If you handle this one, please 1) Cross off the state or city that has been visited (one for each area is all that is needed) from the list on the card incuded with the TB packet, and 2) please consider making a note with on-line TB log entry for the pickup/drop that mentions the first city/state (from the goal target list) that can then be eliminated so the next person to handle it will know it is free to leave that area for another target on the list when posible.

Background: This league is the latest and best attempt to fire up Women's Professional Soccer in the United States. Enhancing the prospect for success this time around is the fact that the league will be adminstered by the United States Soccer Federation. They, as well as Mexico and Canada, will be paying the salaries of 54 of the approximately 160 players that will be rostered. This league promises to field many of our heros and super stars from the past and the most recent WORLD CUP. Expected to take the field will be Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath, Christie Rampone,and many other icons. Hope Solo is recuperating from injuries but is expected to play in several months. The new coach of the U.S. National Team, Tom Sermanni, is excited about the formation of this league and the opportunity it provides for player development running up to the 2015 WORLD CUP. This league will also give many newer players opportunities for a shot at the "big times" that they might not otherwise have in the U.S.  We like soccer a lot, BUT WE LOVE OUR WOMEN'S SOCCER LEAGUE, TEAMS, AND PLAYERS.   GO LADIES!

Our TB consists of a traditional oval shaped coin inscribed with our tracking number. It has a fascimile of the American Flag on the face and the ID data on the reverse. Also, attached by a short chain, is a flat, rubber soccer ball. It has the following written on the reverse side: "Erin - World Cup Fan."

Please help us attain our goal by moving this TB along faithfully in "active" caches. Show our support for these great athletes and national heros that brought home the gold in the last World Cup Championships.
