I am "Eleutherodactylus" which is Greek meaning FREE TOES.
There are more than 17 species endemic to the island of Puerto Rico. The little male frog sings from dusk to dawn greeting all throughout the night as he guards his nest of eggs. The 'Coqui' is the only known genero which hatches directly from the egg as a tiny but fully functional froglet bypassing the more common phase of tadpole.
